We drove down to Leysin today. It was a 2 ½ hour trip so we went via Interlaken.
Along the way we saw all the picture postcard images of Switzerland – chalets, green grass, cows…

Interlaken had the appearance of being a Queenstown of Switzerland – parapenters, horse and carriage trips around the town.

The drive to Leysin was via Gstaad area. Although the weather is warm (near 20 degrees) and the snow is receding the fields are still open.

We arrived at 3pm and the girls and Simon arrived on the train up the mountain at 5:23pm.

After settling everyone into Chalet Ermina we went to Bar Davindra (up near station Feyday) for an excellent, simple meal.

And Feb vs April – similar locations, just a lot less snow!
